BEDFORD COA VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering is a wonderful way to help your neighbor and contribute to the intergenerational character of Bedford while meeting new people, becoming more integrated into our community, and learning new skills.

We have volunteer opportunities for those who would like to assist elders to remain independently in their homes as well as opportunities for older Bedford residents to use their skills and expertise to help both seniors and children.

For a better look at some COA volunteer activities, see the following photos!

As pictured above, volunteers serve as tutors ... collate COA newsletters ... and help staff the reception desk. As shown below, volunteers fix small items in our Fix It Shop ... work at the mealsite ... and give program presentations.

Other volunteers drive elders to medical appointments, make items for sale by the Friends of the Bedford COA to benefit the COA, deliver meals to homebound elders through the Meals-on-Wheels program, teach classes, lead interest groups, visit homebound elders, provide tax, legal, and health benefits counseling, serve on our Board, and perform many other essential functions.

If you are interested in volunteering at the COA, call 781-275-6825! We'd love to have you as part of our team!
