The Bedford Local Transit (BLT), the Town of Bedford’s public transportation service, is offering new destinations and a discounted fare program!
The BLT offers scheduled fixed runs to shopping malls and other stops in Bedford, Burlington, and Billerica and also on-demand door-to-door service
within Bedford and to Emerson Hospital in Concord and Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Anyone may ride the BLT.  The BLT uses a wheelchair-accessible van. 

The BLT is funded in part by the MBTA.

Fixed Route Service

The BLT offers fixed route service to shopping destinations within Bedford , Burlington , and Billerica . To ride on a fixed route, board at any of the stops at the times listed. Alternatively, you may flag down the BLT along its way during the time of the fixed route run and the driver will stop if it is safe to do so.
For out-of-town shopping trips ONLY, riders may pre-book by calling to arrange rides in advance, but you must confirm your ride on the morning of the trip between 8 and 9 a.m.  For all other fixed route stops, you may simply board at the stop without calling first.

On-Demand Service
The BLT offers door-to-door dial-a -ride service within Bedford throughout each weekday at times when there are no fixed route runs and also to Emerson Hospital in Concord on Mondays aand the Burlington Mall and Lahey Clinic Burlington on Thursdays at 10:30.  To arrange a ride, call the BLT at 781-275-2255 between 8 am and 9 am for a ride later that day.  Rides are arranged on a first-come, first-serve asis and all slots may be taken before 9 am.  You may call for medical appointment rides up to three days in advance.

Fares

The fare for all riders is $1.00 each way in-town and $2.00 each way out of town.  A card good for 25 $1 fare tickets is available for $20 from the BLT driver or by calling 781-275-6825.  Riders must pay their fare as they enter the bus.
